Fertilization Programs

Wellington Pro Lawn's fertilizing programs are aimed at fulfilling the requirements of your individual property conditions; the schedule for applying your lawn care feeding is not exact. Unlike some lawn fertilizing companies, we will not use a “one-size-fits-all” strategy. Wellington Pro Lawn will design a lawn fertilization program for your specific needs. But a typical property does require four to six applications of lawn fertilizing each year. We have the ability to use both granular and liquid fertilizer at the same time.

Wellington Pro Lawn suggests a complete analysis of your lawn to formulate a Fertilizing Program including all micro-nutrients needed for a balanced fertilizer program. We can also customize your program to include a professional blend Granulated Fertilizer that is sulfur and polymer coated for a slow release, systematic feeding, at your request.

Wellington Pro Lawn is GI-BMP Certified

GI-BMP is a science-based educational program for Green Industry workers (lawn-care and landscape maintenance professionals), brought to you by UF-IFAS Florida-Friendly Landscaping™ program. The GI-BMP program teaches environmentally safe landscaping practices that help conserve and protect Florida’s ground and surface waters. They can also save Florida clients money, time, and effort; increase the beauty of the home landscape; and protect the health of your family, pets, and the environment. This training is designed to provide corporate, governmental, environmental, and other personnel the Best Management Practices for lawn and landscape and is developed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and endorsed by the pest control industry.

Florida Statute 482.1562 states that all commercial fertilizer applicators must have a license from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) by January 1, 2014. To get this license, each Green Industry worker must be trained in the GI-BMP program and receive a certificate of completion from UF/IFAS and FDEP. Additionally, many non-commercial Green Industry applicators or other workers are required to pass the training by local ordinances or voluntarily participate in the program to better serve their clients.
